A self guided tour providing complete freedom of movement! Our biggest advantage is that we never rush you. Take your time and enjoy your stops, just follow our simple bus timetable.


Tastings and lunch are at your own expense and will need to be pre booked due to the volume of clients on these days. Please allow 2 stops per tasting, we have 30 minute stops in case you are needing to leave a place but 30 minutes is not long enough to do a tasting. For lunch please allow 3 stops.

1. Christchurch Gondola (03 384 0310)

The gondola base is located in Heathcote Valley, and it traverses the slopes of Mount Cavendish in the Port Hills.


2. Ferrymead Heritage Park (info@ferrymead.org.nz) or (03 384 1970)

Ferrymead Heritage Park is a museum in Christchurch, New Zealand, housing groups with historical themes, mainly transport related. There is a large array of heritage exhibitions and displays that are open for viewing, particularly on Sundays. These displays are owned and operated by individual societies and manned by their volunteers. They have restored and displayed their collections for you to enjoy and these include tractors, fire engines, airplanes, trams, trains, cars, printing, post and telegraph, model railway, photography and much much more. If you are interested in a particular society's display, please contact the society in advance of your visit, to ensure that volunteers will be on site. 


3. The Tannery (Woolston) (info@casselsbrewery.co.nz)

The Tannery boutique shopping centre has a range of exciting and unique shops, housed in an amazing architectural shopping destination. The Tannery is the place for individuals to shop, people who love quality, like to make ethical purchases, and want to support local crafts and artisans. It is a hub of creativity and hospitality, retail, craft and entertainment. Covering fashion, gifts, homewares, crafts, dining, and health & beauty, there is something for everyone.


4. Three Boys Brewery (office@threeboysbrewery.co.nz) or (+64 3 940 5621) 

At Three Boys Brewery we personally tend each small-scale brew, right from selecting the best malt and hops until it leaves the brewery. Our beers are a living product; not filtered and not pasteurized - just as nature intended. Our aim is simple: finest quality beer, finest possible taste. Our beers are brewed, bottled, and canned on site so you can guarantee quality and freshness every time.


5. Riverside Market (Hereford St Bus Stop (Montreal St)  (027 770 5599)

Riverside Market is an enclosed, 7-day-trading, indoor market, linked to a vibrant network of boutique retail, restaurants, cafes & bars - Riverside is a unique inner-city shopping experience for the local community and visitors to enjoy in the heart of the Christchurch CBD


6. The Pedal Pusher  (Addington) (03 335 0095)

Whether you fancy brunch with coffee, a long lunch or casual dinner, The Pedal Pusher has something to suit all palates and dietary requirements (including vegan and vegetarian dishes). Cooking up a feast of modern New Zealand cuisine, enjoy all your pub favourites and more.

The bar offers a selection of thirst-quenching craft beer and local wine from New Zealand vineyards. Enjoy a fine beverage, tasty fare and the friendliest welcome in town at The Pedal Pusher, your new home away from home.


7. Wigram Brewing Company Ltd (03 343 4493)

Open:  9am-7pm (Mon-Fri), Sat 11am-7pm, Sun 2pm-7pm

Using a cacophony of rich international and New Zealand malts and hops, our beers are "crafted" to surprise and satisfy. Committed to traditional brewing processes. Wigram beers do not contain any preservatives, artificial colouring or added sugars thus producing true natural flavours and character. 


8. Air Force Museum of NZ  (03 371 9600)

Open: 9.30am - 4.30pm

The Air Force Museum of New Zealand is the national museum for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) and New Zealand military aviation, and stands on the site of the former air base at Wigram, Christchurch.

It is a world class cultural institution, employing a team of over 30 professional staff, and attracting more than 100,000 visitors per year.


9. Melton Estate Winery (info@meltonestate.co.nz) or (03 347 4968)

Melton Estate has twice been awarded the Best South Island Wine Tourism Restaurant in the International Great Wine Capitals Tourism Awards. Melton Estate features a modern winery building overlooking rows of lush Pinot Noir vines. There are plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy, including lawns, garden areas and the deck looking out over the vineyard.

Sample local wines that include: Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, and the acclaimed Sparkling Riesling known as “Summer Love”. The popular restaurant serves great food that is matched to these handcrafted boutique wines.

The Winery Restaurant and Cellar Door is open all year on Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm,

10. Sherlin Alpaca Stud  (03 349 7524)

Open: 10am - 4pm

Sherlin Alpaca Stud specialises in all things alpaca, farming both Suri and Huacayas in all colours. With hand feeding and walking available, and if you want to lead an Alpaca - just ask and they can organise this during your Sherlin Alpaca Experience.

They provide amazing photo opportunities and so many obliging and gorgeous Alpacas will stand quietly while you take your photo. They also have a number of Alpacas who are happy to be part of your selfie! If you want to just walk among the Alpacas and experience the quiet nature of these beautiful creatures - they make this happen. 


11. Glenlothian Farm (021 032 8817)

Open: Mon-Tue (closed), Wed-Sun 10:00am-3:00pm

Glenlothian Farm is a unique animal farm and home to various rare breed animals including Enderby Island rabbits, Canterbury Blue pigs and Arapawa Island goats. As members of the Rare Breeds Society, we are one of the few petting farms in New Zealand to have Bennetts Wallabies. We also have some kiwi favourites including Shetland ponies and peacocks.  

Along with seeing, feeding and petting our animals, we provide an educational experience around our rare breeds and the wide spread Bennetts Wallaby pests. Locally sourced products are available at the onsite Craft Shop.


12. Langdale Vineyard Restaurant (03 342 6266)

Open: Fri-Sun 11am-4pm

Langdale Café and Restaurant offers you a casual country dining experience either in our attractive restaurant or outside in our sheltered garden. Menus reflect local seasonal produce with a Mediterranean influence.  Coffee, light snacks, brunch and full meals are available complemented by a local wine selection.


13.Two Fat Possums (03 421 6481)

Two Fat Possums pride themselves on serving delicious and hearty meals that are perfect for a family lunch or dinner. Their menu features a wide range of dishes, from classic favourites to unique creations.


14. West Melton Tavern & StoneGrill Restaurant (03 347 8460)

Open: Sun-Tues 11:00am-10:00pm, Wed-Sat 11:00am-12:00am 

After more than 30 years of the Verwey family cooking on stones, and further years of exhaustive research and development, the STONEGRILL® dining experience was born and launched in the mid-80’s.

In 1985 they opened their first STONEGRILL® Restaurant in Australia. They then established it as a private company in 1991, Stonegrill International Pty. Ltd, along with the STONEGRILL® brand.


15. Melton Estate Winery (Way Out) (03 347 4968)

Melton Estate is a boutique winery featuring a modern restaurant and event venue set amongst vines on 12 acres in West Melton, Christchurch - only 15 minutes from the airport. The winery restaurant is surrounded by Pinot Noir vines, with multiple indoor / outdoor options, including an expansive deck overlooking the vineyards and a new games lawn. 16. Straight 8 Estate & Winery (027 722 8416)

Open: Open 7 Days 9am-6.30pm

We produce an award winning range of single vineyard wines, Rose - Rieslings – Chardonnay – Pinot Noir that express our terroir and flavours, giving you great wines that will cellar well.

We love receiving visitors at our winery, whether you’re a local, traveller or wine connoisseur! We like to keep it casual and relaxed, and usually Bella the vineyard dog won’t be far away to greet you, give you the welcoming sniff and check you out for food.


17. The Laboratory Brew Pub & Restaurant (03 325 3006)

Open: Mon (closed), Tues-Thurs: 11:00am-10:00pm, Fri-Sun (11:00am-10:30pm)

 A family friendly (and well behaved dogs) casual dining restaurant, a cosy pub for locals to gather and sample the beers from our own micro-brewery, a great place for a coffee with friends and now the home to a 15 seat boutique cinema. We've got you covered.


18. Tai Tapu Hotel (03 329 6819)

Open: Mon 12:00pm-late, Tues-Sun 11:00am-late

A friendly country pub, the "Ellesmere Arms" (now known as "Tai Tapu Hotel") has been the local watering hole since the 1860s. It was originally a stagecoach inn, complete with stables and forge on the road to Akaroa. Nowadays it’s one of Canterbury’s most popular venues hosting live music; concerts; weddings; parties; conferences; weekly quiz nights and meal deals.   But mostly, it is a weekend destination for the family with its large beer garden, playground and bouncy castles for the kids.


19. Rossendale Wines (03 322 7780)

Open: Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm

Our wines are made with an emphasis on their varietal fruit characteristics, produced and created in the vineyard. We lovingly produce Rossendale wines for the New Zealand market. Our export brands include Cottesbrook and Governors Bay.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Prior to the day: 
This is a self guided tour - All tastings are the guests responsibility and at the guests expense. Some wineries will waiver the tasting fee when purchasing wine. We recommend booking lunch prior to the day and bringing water with you to stay hydrated. 
Please note that we cannot accommodate backpacks, luggage, wheelchairs and large prams on board our buses.

If you would like to book for more than 8 guests please contact us directly.  
Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome, however - to consume alcohol you MUST be over the legal drinking age. You may be asked to produce a Government issued ID to prove your age. A child's tickets can be purchased for those under 13 years. 

On the Day: 
Please be at your pick up stop 15 minutes prior to the departure time. Hop on Hop off does not take any responsibility for lateness. 
We recommend no more than 8 guests hop off at any given winery - this is to ensure a more intimate and enjoyable experience. 
Our buses are not licensed which means alcohol cannot be consumed whilst on the bus. We follow strict duty of care protocols which may result in the stoppage of a guest's tour when not followed. The removal of the offending passenger in the event of consuming alcohol, intoxication or disrespectful behaviour may occur. A fine will be charged for any event which causes cleaning such as spillage or soiling the bus ($200).
